But the recent comparison between the "Egyptian King" and the "Portuguese Don" does not seem to be favorable to both, as fans of Salah or supporters of Cristiano Ronaldo will probably not like him.
The new comparison goes beyond the performance on the carpet, or at the same level as Liverpool and Juventus, up to the world of creativity, especially of the plastic art, through two statues of the players which has sparked a lot of controversy and criticism.
Egyptians and the world have seen a statue of their star Salah, organized by the organizers of the "World Youth Forum" in front of the conference halls animated by Sharm el-Sheikh for the second year in a row, celebrating the successes achieved by the big Egyptian star.
But the statue does not seem to have aroused much admiration: it has been repeatedly criticized, sometimes mocked, because of its size and Salah's body, which many have found somewhat odd.
Not only was the statue and controversy surrounding it in Egypt, but the issue has spread to global horizons, and Ronaldo has also returned, some critics having given back to the statue of the star of Juventus in Portugal the priority.
The sculptor Ronaldo carved Emmanuel Santo, posed in March, at the airport of Madeira, birthplace of "Don".
At the time, social networking sites were filled with ridicule and mockery of the project, considered "distorted", where activists claimed that it was never like Ronaldo, the same as those of the statue Mohammed Salah.
"This statue is terrifying," said an activist on Twitter, commenting on Salah's image. "This statue looks like everything except Salah."
"The same thing happened with Ronaldo," he said, "It's happening again with Salah, the statues are distorted."
