MILAN (Reuters) – Inter Milan's hopes of reaching the 16-year-old Champions League are suspended and US coach Luciano Spalletti believes the Catalan giants will not let his team down.
Tottenham Hotspur won 1-0 at Inter on Wednesday, which means that they will qualify at the expense of their Italian rival if they win their last Group B match in Barcelona.
Spalletti, who will welcome his team PSV Eindhoven in the Group's other game on December 11, said that Barca would do everything in his power despite his qualification.
"The Barcelona players have a lot of professionalism and I never doubt how they will handle the next match."
"I've never seen stars such as Gerard Becky, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez play lightly or feel defeat at home."
Spalletti said his decision to replace midfielder Radia Naingolan before the break had come because of an ankle injury.
"I have good relations with Radia and there was no disagreement between us at the moment of change," he said.
"He had an aching ankle and had a hard time running, so I decided to replace him before the break and he passed all the required tests before the match."
