NEW YORK (Reuters) – The euro has pulled back against the dollar on Monday, ruling out earlier gains after ECB President Mario Draghi recognized the slowdown in growth in the region. .

The euro was already appreciated thanks to the news that Italy could reduce its budget deficit target in order to appease the EU.

In 1904 GMT, the euro was down 0.10% to 1.1329 dollar.

The pound fell back slightly against the greenback after securing Sunday's agreement on the UK's exit from the European Union.

The pound was up 0.02% to 1.2814 dollar.

The slowdown in global growth has raised fears that the Federal Reserve will stop the tightening cycle sooner than expected.

The dollar was up 0.55% against the Japanese currency at 113.56 yen, against 112.94 yen at Sunday's US session.
