The final leg of the Copa Libertadores will be held on Dec. 9 between Argentinian River Plate and Boca Juniors at Santiago Bernabeu of Real Madrid, told AFP a source familiar with the matter.

The match was scheduled for Nov. 24 at River Plate after a 2-2 draw at Boca, but was postponed due to the attack by River fans on the bus that was carrying his opponents a few hours before the match.

The match was held at the Bernabeu stadium on December 9 at 8:30 pm GMT, but should be officially confirmed by the South American Confederation.

Names of several cities to host the match include Asuncion, Genoa from Italy, Belo Horizonte from Brazil and the Nou Camp in Barcelona, Spain.

The Spanish press announced Thursday that the Santiago Bernabeu stadium could be an option for the match after the decision of the South American football federation "Conmipol" to remain on neutral ground.

"According to sources close to the negotiations, the agreement has been finalized at 90% and both parties hope to be able to announce it," El Pais reported on its website.

The Spaniards and Real Madrid have given the green light for the final of the South American parallel with the Champions League.

Conmipol announced Tuesday that the match would take place outside Argentina on December 8 and 9, after being postponed to Saturday due to the attack by River Plate fans on the bus carrying Boca Juniors.

On the 9th of next month, Real will be at the hour for a match in Huesca, in the Spanish league, which means that his stadium, which can seat around 81,000 spectators, will be available.

The newspaper AS went further than El Pais, confirming that the match would be played on December 9 at 20:30 GMT.

Both teams drew 2-2 at Boca Stadium two weeks before Saturday's return leg at River River Stadium. However, the last fans of the guest bus were thrown with stones and sticks, which prompted "Conmipol" to postpone the match to a later date the same evening, before being deported overnight. A few hours before Sunday's deadline, Conmipol announced that they would be postponed to a new agreed date.

After a meeting with club officials Tuesday in Paraguay, Conimbol announced that the match would be held on December 8 or 9, but outside of Argentina.

Boca expressed dissatisfaction with the fixing of a new date for the match, especially before deciding to appeal the Confederation of South America, asking the winner of the title based on an article of the law of the Union including sanctions against the team in similar cases, winners without match.

Consumpol's Discipline Committee has not yet announced its decision on this issue, with several reports stating its intention to do so at a later date.
