The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) announced Thursday that more than 14 million doses of measles and rubella vaccine had reached Aden International Airport.
"These vaccines will be enough for more than 13 million children aged six months to 15 years in the next national campaign against measles and rubella," she said on Twitter.
The announcement coincides with the arrival of United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Mark Lokoc in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, for a three-day visit.
It also comes as a result of the efforts of UN Special Envoy Martin Griffith to persuade the parties to the conflict to participate in the peace negotiations that will take place in Sweden early next month.
