According to informed sources, the President of the Union of Arab Writers, at the extraordinary meeting of the Union held in Cairo, discussed amending certain articles of the settlement of the statute to be presented to the next meeting of the Union in Abu Dhabi.
The sources said that one of the most important recommendations of the conference is the freezing of members of Abdel Rahim Alalam, representative of the Union of Moroccan writers, stressing that the freezing of the member himself same and not to the Union of Moroccan books.
The move would have been an escalation of what had already been taken, with Abdel Rahim al-Alam suspended as the first vice-president of the union, a vacancy since the freeze.
