NEW YORK (Reuters) – The number of Americans who applied for unemployment benefits unexpectedly rose last week, but the demand for the three largest states is due to Monday's holiday that is expected to impact data. .

The Labor Ministry said unemployment claims in the states of California, Virginia, and Texas, as well as in Puerto Rico and Hawaii, were estimated.
The 4-week moving average, which is a more accurate measure of the labor market because it excludes weekly volatility, rose from 1,500 to 215,150 last week.
The US labor market is near or near full employment, with an unemployment rate of 3.7%.
