Audi has announced a new version of the R8 ready to be introduced in time for the New Year holidays, specifically the 2018 R8 V8 Plus Coupé, which will be available in November, but could sell faster than its long name. Indeed, the company will offer only 10 copies of these dynamic luxury cars dedicated to race tracks in the United States.
As its name suggests, this very limited version puts the emphasis on improving the already outstanding performance of the R8 V10 Plus. This is accomplished not by adding more power, but by reducing weight. Audi did not tell us exactly about weight reduction, but gave some examples, including the lower weight wheels, with titanium parts for the brake pads, and the engineers seemed to want to reduce their weight as much as possible.
On the other hand, the whole adds weight, but in the form of additional resistance to the ground. The car comes with a complete set of carbon fibers including a rear spoiler, a front spoiler, side sills, a front fascia and a large rear dispersion. These changes make it possible to double the power of the R8 V10 Plus at a speed of 150 km / h and reach 315 km / h.
The new set includes black keys added to the outside of the car and a full leather set installed inside. There are new racing seats with different red seams, an Alcantara steering wheel with red ring for the 12 o'clock position, carbon fiber gearshift knobs and a 13-speaker stereo audio system. The price of the car starts at $ 237,350,000, up $ 43,000 from the standard version.
