Ubisoft is removing its standalone achievements from its own launcher, starting with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Eagle-eyed players took notice of the achievements – which were available in the recent Watch Dogs Legion – were missing when it became apparent that there was no tab for achievements on the Valhalla page in Ubisoft Connect.
After fans contacted the official Ubisoft Forum For answers, the support team initially said that Ubisoft Connect’s missing accomplishments “were unintentional” and the team “was actively working to enable the accomplishments.”
However, a few days later, the team returned to the thread with an update that confirmed that this was in fact a “planned change.”
“Achievements are not available for this title on PC, and that’s a planned change,” reported a company representative (thank you, PC Gamer). “Instead of achievements for the new games on Ubisoft Connect, we’ve instead expanded the challenges, which provide XP and other rewards in Ubisoft Connect.
“We know this is a big change for many of you, and we appreciate your understanding on this matter.”
Ubisoft notified us last month that it was update your Ubisoft Club service for the new generation of consoles, renamed Ubisoft Connect.
