Ubisoft + could be the last subscription service to be absorbed into Microsoft’s Game Pass, according to Windows Central Editor Jez Corden.
The rumor had been hushed up by a few insiders since early December, but has not been confirmed or even commented on by anyone from Microsoft itself. But now Corden, commenting on the rumor that Ubisoft’s service will align with Game Pass at the end of 2021, says it “has a good chance of being true based on things. [they’d] heard”.
Ubisoft’s subscription service is called Ubisoft + and is similar to Game Pass in that it gives players access to a library of downloadable games in exchange for a subscription fee. EA runs a similar service, EA Play, which was also recently added to Game Pass.
I imagine it would be a safe or a smaller slice of older games, but crazier things have happened. I always thought EA Play would be an extra level of Game Pass, but they just threw this bad boy on. I guess we’ll see.

Ubisoft + and EA Play only give access to games developed or published directly by Ubisoft or EA, and typically don’t add larger versions until months after release.
Game Pass, meanwhile, features premium Microsoft games alongside plenty of third-party titles, giving it a much larger library even without EA Play games. Game Pass also frequently includes games on the day of its release.
Meanwhile, EA Play’s rollout for Game Pass on PC was supposed to arrive in December, but was delayed early this year. December has been a more successful month for the console version of Game Pass, with almost 20 great titles added to the service.
