The Kansas State Wildcats are part of the NCAA tournament. Irvine beat the Wildcats 70-64 in the first round on Friday in San Jose. Max Hazzard's 3-pointer at the ring sent the 13th seeded tied to 30 Kansas State, fourth seed, in a first-round match in the South region. The Wildcats, who won the Big 12 regular season title, ended the halftime drought with a major drought. Barry Brown Jr., Kansas State's top scorer, was scoreless in six minutes.
