UFC 241 Results, Highlights: Khama Worthy records Devonte Smith's magnificent knockout in the first round

Devonte Smith was one of the favorites among the 1,000 favorites of her former training partner, Khama Worthy, during her match against UFC 241. Rather than leaving with the expected win Smith is now a footnote for one of the biggest upheavals in the UFC's recent memory.

Worthy (15-6) faced Smith (10-2) less than a week in advance, replacing Clay Collard – himself replacing John Makdessi. Both light weights were driven together several years ago. Smith was trying to get UFC candidate status after an impressive performance in Dana White's Contender series, and Worthy profiling herself on the regional scene.

Worthy made his Oval Octagon debut with a win of five wins just three weeks ago. He took advantage of this opportunity to capture Smith while he had stretched too far at the last minute of the first round.

A short right hand of Worthy took Smith's legs and Worthy followed on the ground, performing tracking shots before forcing out.

The only thing that could make the evening of the +600 underdogs better? A performance bonus of the night of the UFC.

"Speaking of being paid," said Worthy as a result of his victory. "It's the first knockout of the evening – it's $ 50,000 (UFC President, Dana White) Let's get going."
