UFC 257 medical suspensions: Conor McGregor may be out for six months

[ad_1]

Conor McGregor may have made the front page of the first UFC pay-per-view of the year, but it may be some time before we see “The Notorious” again in action.

In the UFC 257 lightweight main event on Saturday in Abu Dhabi, McGregor lost by TKO in the second round to Dustin Poirier. His fall was preceded by several scathing kicks and this was reflected in the official list of medical suspensions at mixedmartialarts.com.

McGregor demands a negative x-ray result on his right tibia / fibula or he will be suspended for 180 days. Poirier only received a seven-day suspension for compulsory rest.

Two other fighters also potentially face six-month suspensions, lightweight Matt Frevola (right hand) and middleweight Andrew Sanchez (nasal, tibia / left fibula). Both require negative x-rays on their injured areas to avoid maximum suspension.
