Round 2 – Jabs immediately traded. Hall showing more movement now. They take turns exchanging crispy punches. Strickland throws a combination. Hall pulls back a bit and Strickland continues to strike and thinks about pulling out. Hall defends him well, but he stays on the cage. Strickland happy to step forward and lean on him a bit and grind. Hall fights for the position of the hands and his corner begs him to get out of the cage. Strickland with a nice uppercut inside before coming back to the center. Hall tries to push a bit and kicks the leg. He doubles his jab and shows head nods. Strickland jabs and shoots the right. Round 3 – Hall out quickly and is the first to punch. He also throws a low kick. A second mark. Hall showing a lot of angles and setting the tone now. Strickland is struggling to find the target now. Hall scores a nasty blow. It’s a back and forth as they continue to box at close range. Hall also goes to the body with his strikes, while Strickland focuses almost entirely on the header. Hall continues to push his opponent’s head back with the jab. It goes to the body. Strickland steps back and puts down a right hand. Another brand. Hall looks hurt and he returns to the cage. Strickland able to lead him to the canvas. Hall stands up quickly, but Strickland controls from behind and lands a few knees. Hall shows up with 20 seconds left, and they trade at the bell. Round 5 – The room opens quickly and needs to shake things up. He presses and kicks the leg. Strickland steps back with a stiff jab and right hand behind. Strickland pushes his way through the clinch and leads Hall to the fence. Hall fights his hands and Strickland steps back. They continue to trade tight. Hall leads with his head but no call. Hall starts to tire a bit, but he throws. Strickland responds with direct punches, then presses the action against the fence again. Hall was working for a position there, but Strickland was comfortable hitting him from there. Hall pushes him back with two minutes remaining, but Strickland throws a few punches and presses him against the fence again. Strickland with knees and a shoulder strike. Hall against the cage and must escape. There is one minute left. Strickland is content to age him here and grind, but Hall comes back to center with 40 seconds. He swings, but so does Strickland, and they pick up again and head for the cage. Elbow turning from Strickland and a few knees before the bell. MMA Junkie gives Strickland the final round, 10-9, and awards him the fight 50-45.
