UFC Vegas 31 Results: Matches to be played for “Makhachev vs Moises” Main Card Winners

UFC Vegas 31 shot down last night (Saturday, July 17, 2021) from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the main event of the evening, Islam Makhachev beat Thiago Moises by sinking into a choke at the back to claim his eighth consecutive victory (highlights here). In the headlining act, Miesha Tate defeated Marion Reneau by third round technical knockout in her first fight after a five-year hiatus (see him again here).

Winner: Islam Makhachev

Who he should face next: Rafael dos Anjos

Makhachev has been calling for a fight against the “GDR” for some time now, so now is the perfect time to make it happen. Islam is on an eight-game winning streak and is aiming for a place in the Top 5. Dos Anjos, meanwhile, has been inactive for eight months since Paul Felder’s loss, so there really is no reason for him. don’t take this fight. He’s only 1-2 in his last three fights, so it’s not like he’s able to demand his own big fights or turn down big opportunities. I mean he can refuse whatever he wants, but fighting Makhachev would be very beneficial. If he beats him, he takes all his thunder and puts himself at the heart of the image of the championship. Of course, if Makhachev lands the “W”, it gives him the biggest victory of his career.

Winner: Miesha Tate

Who she should face next: Julia avila

Tate scored a huge victory stopping Reneau in the third and final lap. Afterward, she said she would be ready to deal with whatever came. I feel a fight against Avila afterwards. She is also coming off an exceptional victory, beating Julija Stoliarenko last month. She’s currently ranked No.14, so if Tate can earn her second straight win over a ranked opponent, that should be enough to bring her back into the Top 15.

Winner: Mateusz Gamrot

Who he should face next: Renato Mohawk

Gamrot clinched a lightning-quick victory over longtime veteran Jeremy Stephens subduing him in just over a minute in the first round. It can only go up from here, and its competition will only increase. A fight against Moicano looks appealing as he also just picked up a win, beating Jai Herbert via a second round submission last month. If Gamrot can take the win, that would be another pretty name on his resume and a notch on his belt. Gamrot looks like a promising prospect and will give fits to any future enemy.

Winner: Rodolfo Vieira

Who he should face next: Omari Akhmedov

Vieira redeemed himself after losing to Anthony Hernandez at UFC 258 by subduing Dustin Stoltzfus via a bare back choke in the third round. The jiu-jitsu ace has definitely shown some improvement in his overall MMA play in this fight. Next to the submission assistant, a fight against grappling guru Akhmedov seems appropriate. Akhmedov comes off a narrow loss to Brad Tavares at UFC 264, his second loss in the last three fights. Both men have grappling roots, so this would be a great showdown between two suitors looking to find their way into the division.

Winner: Billy Quarantillo

Who he should face next: Herbert Burns

Quarantillo returned to the winning streak with a late save victory over Gabriel Benitez. Quarantillo was initially scheduled to face Burns before retiring from the fight for undisclosed reasons. If he has already sorted out his problems, it makes sense to book this game again. Burns is looking to bounce back after suffering a technical knockout loss to Daniel Pineda in UFC 252, ending his five-game winning streak.
