Instant replay was put to the test on Saturday at UFC Vegas 38 after an accidental head-to-head clash marred Kevin Holland’s submission by Kyle Daukaus.
Referee Dan Miragliotta requested a rerun of the Nevada Athletic Commission replay official even before Daukaus sank into a choke in the back as a result of the accidental foul, which briefly knocked Holland out and knocked him out. sent to scramble to survive.
After a few moments, Miragliotta, the sold referee of the contest, ruled that the header invalidated Daukaus’ submission and declared the bout without a contest at 3:43 of the first round.

Holland was a zombie there. I got out, I came back to life to stay in shape.

It sucks for Holland. Last week there was also a head-to-head clash with Ortega Volkanawski which had a big impact on the momentum of the fighting.

Flo’s fighters are fighting brother, we are trained, we are injured, we are fighting. Unfortunately, the blow that hurt was an unintentional head clash. Last week merab was knocked out but continued. The difference is that he was hit by a legal shot. Kyle did what he was supposed to do and won but illegally. https://t.co/2ywQQyxXOJ
