On the image presented, you can notice two major hurricanes: the famous Great Red Spot and VA oval The latter was formed of three distinct hurricanes that merged in 2000. According to scientists, the Great Red Spot would have been formed as a result of a similar process several centuries ago.
The picture was composed of three pictures taken by "Juno", the distance between the camera and the planet was 38.3 km to 55 000 km.
Junona was launched on August 5, 2011 in Cape Canaveral, Florida, United States, as part of the New Frontiers program. The "Juno" on Jupiter's orbit was working on the Galileo probe, but "Juno" would be the first in history to fly the planet through its poles.
The device arrived at Jupiter on July 4, 2016. It will remain on the planet's orbit for many more years and will transfer new images to the ground. When the job is done, the probe is destroyed.
