Earlier Wednesday, Debbie Dingell, 65, had announced that she had skipped Tuesday's speech on the state of the Union because of the fact that she had been killed. she and her husband had "entered a new phase".
"He is my love and we have been a team for almost 40 years," she wrote. "I will take every day as it will come in. We thank people for their friendship and support and ask for prayers and privacy during this difficult time."
