F Representative John Dingell, known for his long service to the lower house and his jokes on Twitter, promised to keep in touch with his supporters via the platform Wednesday after entering a health center palliative.
Michigan Democrat, 92, is the oldest member of Congress. He was first elected to represent a district of the Ann Arbor area in 1955. He succeeded his father John Dingell Sr. and his wife, Rep. Debbie Dingell. , won the race to replace him after his resignation in 2015.

Earlier Wednesday, Debbie Dingell, 65, had announced that she had skipped Tuesday's speech on the state of the Union because of the fact that she had been killed. she and her husband had "entered a new phase".
"He is my love and we have been a team for almost 40 years," she wrote. "I will take every day as it will come in. We thank people for their friendship and support and ask for prayers and privacy during this difficult time."
