5 children ejected, killed in an accident when the van leaves the road

Five children were killed this weekend when a vehicle veered off a Maryland road and crashed into a snowy wooded area, authorities said.

According to the Maryland State Police, Maryland State Police killed five children and injured two adults on Saturday around five o'clock in the morning.

The police identified these children: London Dixon, age 8, and Paris Dixon, age 5, Rickelle Ricks, age 6, Zion Beard, age 14, and Damari Herald, age 15, 19459003 Children, members an extended family, were ejected from the back seat of the 2005 Chrysler Pacifica and were declared dead at the scene of their deaths.

It appears at a press conference Saturday, the Maryland State Police captain, Daniel Pickett, said at a press conference.

"For the moment, we have excluded no cause or circumstance that may have contributed to this collision, we are looking at all aspects," Pickett said. "The investigation is in advance.We will conduct a thorough investigation and find the cause."

Dominique Taylor, 32, the driver and mother of London and Paris, as well as one of the passengers sitting in front, were transported to a local hospital

The passenger was in critical condition on Saturday afternoon, but the driver's condition was unknown.

Investigators believe that preliminary evidence indicates that both were wearing seatbelts.

"Every collision we've had when we lose our lives is a tragedy," Pickett said. "It's as simple as that. And when children are involved, it's more of a tragedy.
