PrivatBank will issue cards from the Chinese UnionPay payment system

The State PrivatBank has signed a partnership agreement with the largest payment system in the world, UnionPay International, and plans to start issuing payment cards in the near future.

According to the press service of the bank

a partnership with the Chinese payment system will stimulate the development of cash-free colonies in Ukraine and the introduction of innovative payment services.

UnionPay is a Chinese payment system established in 2002. At present, it is the largest in the world in the number of financial transactions and cards issued, exceeding Visa and MasterCard. In particular, more than half of the payment terminals and about half of the cash machines in Hungary accept UnionPay cards. UnionPay is also accepted in about half of ATMs and over 10,000 points of sale in the Czech Republic. UnionPay cards are issued in more than 40 countries
