It seems that the German automaker's engineers are in the final stage of testing their flagship Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan. No, the observed prototype of the long awaited novelty is still covered with camouflage film, but it already hides its appearance less.
On the video, you can see a new drawing of the headlights. In general, compared to past photographs, the prototype of the car began to slowly emerge from camouflage – this time, the number of plastic overlays became much smaller.
It is reported that the car was a series of road tests on public roads in Germany. Unfortunately, for the moment, it is not possible to get an idea of the new exterior of the German sedan of the representative class – there is still a lot of camouflage.
Up to now, all elements are hidden from the eyes of third parties. And that's what amazed us, so there are special pads on the door knobs. Like last time, when we saw them for the first time, we decided that the automaker's engineers might have decided to play against reporters. After all, they are aware that the test prototype will be worth the trouble of the unlucky "paparazzi". However, it is possible that the new generation of Mercedes-Benz S-Class door handles will receive palm scanners for added security.
In addition, it is very interesting that the part of false grille and part of the windshield are open. that the camouflage film of these elements has been removed in order to provide the necessary working capacity of the special sensors that are necessary for the operation of the autonomous control system.
Unfortunately, so far there is no data on the technical component of the long awaited German novelty. the wheel was first shown in 2013. We think it's unlikely that the Mercedes-Benz guys will show us the next generation of their flagship before 2020, in which case the start of sales is planned for 2021.
