In the context of the fateful events of the country, two brothers, Andrew and Alexei Savitsky, fall in love with the beautiful Sophia. The Bolsheviks come to Kiev, the city is filled with "red" agents. The UNR government throws all parts of the army fit for combat, including junkers and students, into the fight against the enemy. Four hundred young men, including Andrei and Alexey, stand against the 4,000 well-armed soldiers.
