Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said that France and Malta welcome 50 migrants, formerly removed from the wooden boat in the Mediterranean Sea

France and Malta will receive 100 of the 450 refugees who were rescued from a wooden ship in the Mediterranean Sea near the Italian island of Lampedusa . This was announced Saturday, July 14 by the Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte. "France and Malta will take 50 migrants," he wrote on his Facebook page

Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat confirmed that his country would accept migrants. "Malta does not just ask, but also offers solidarity," he wrote on Twitter. France has not yet confirmed the application of the Italian Prime Minister.

Other European countries must also take part in asylum seekers, added Conte. "This is the first important result obtained after a day of phone calls and written communications with the 27 European leaders," said Mr. Conte. He added that Italy would accept some of the refugees, if other countries do, reports Reuters.

About 450 migrants driven by a wooden boat in the Mediterranean Sea on July 14 evacuated two warships. One of these ships belongs to the Italian Coast Guard, the other – participates in the mission of the European Agency for Border Protection Frontex

Eight women and children for medical assistance have taken care Italian coast at the island of Lampedusa. Other immigrants have been banned from accepting the Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, who has a stern anti-migratory stance.

In recent weeks, conflicts have erupted between states. The Italian government has banned vessels from charities that have saved migrants and entered the country's ports, and as a result, private rescue vessels are not active in the Mediterranean. Salvini wanted to extend the same ban to ships participating in the EU's anti-smuggling missions and to pick up the survivors. Italy was forced to take such ships

Recently, the Italian police arrested 38 traffickers who were transporting migrants to the EU.
