Syrian troops regained control of another province

Syrian rebels still hold a narrow section separating the provinces from Daraa and El Kuyneert.

The Syrian army took control of the strategic hill that leads to the Golan Heights occupied by Israel. Reuters reported this on Monday, July 16th.

Representatives of the Syrian Army said they took control of Hawar Hill on the second day of a major offensive to capture the rest of southwestern Syria at the Israeli border, which is in the hands of the rebels.

Syrian rebels still occupy a narrow area separating the provinces of Daraa and El Kuyneert, despite the seizure of government forces with the support of Russia, mainly in the province of Daraa.

According to the UN, because of the battles in the region, 234,000 became refugees, 70% of whom were hidden in the neighboring province of Kuneitra, which is next to the Golan Heights occupied by Israel.
