No more secret! The MeerKAT telescope photographed the center of our galaxy | Express

The image captures the unique details of a supermassive black hole, located 25,000 light years from Earth in the direction of the constellation Sagittarius, or 4.3 million solar masses. The panorama covers a space of about 1000 x 500 light-years, and the colors of the image correspond to the intensity of the signal, from pale red to brilliant white.

In addition, in the image, you can see the supernova remnants and filaments of the radiant substance. The nature of these filaments remains unknown, but the very ability to distinguish them in such detail gives valuable information about the magnetic fields surrounding the active center of the Milky Way.
