Rumors say that the ARM Cortex-A75 core will be part of the chip. It should be noted that the ARM Cortex-A75 core is on average 22% more powerful than the ARM Cortex-A73, which is used in the Kirin 970.

It is also reported that Huawei plans to introduce the Kirin 980 processor at IFA 2018, which will take place from August 31 to September 5.

We will add that Huawei is also designing a powerful Kirin 1020 mobile processor. It is claimed that this solution will provide almost twice as much performance as the current Kirin 970 chip. The 5G modem will come with Kirin 1020.
