The National Bank of Ukraine has revised the method of calculating the official exchange rate of the hryvnia against the US dollar, updating the data sources used for its calculation and bringing it closer to the publication
The official exchange rate of the hryvnia against the US dollar will be calculated on the basis of information relating to all transactions of sale and purchase of US dollars entered into by banks on the interbank foreign exchange market of the United States. Ukraine with the other terms "Tode", "Volume" and "Spot". The new calculation method provides a two-step system for cutting transactions, the parameters of which are rejected for various reasons. from the parameters of the vast majority of transactions of the given day, and therefore these agreements are not representative for inclusion in the calculation of the official rate of hryvnia to the US dollar. First of all, from the current range of transactions, all transactions are canceled, the rate of which is more than 2% of the arithmetic average for all transactions. Then compensate the transaction, whose rate / volume deviates from the average arithmetic rate / volume by more than 2 standard deviations
The calculation of the official hryvnia / dollar rate will be made as the weighted average of all remaining transactions after the cut.
Recall that the official exchange rate of the hryvnia against the US dollar is still calculated in the medium term The value of all interbank transactions mentioned above per day according to the System of Confirmation of Transactions on the Interbank Foreign Exchange Market of Ukraine (also referred to as ValCli), that is to say without cutting non-representative agreements.
] In addition to the official exchange rate of the hryvnia against the US dollar, the National Bank will also carry out a daily calculation of the hryvnia exchange rate against the US dollar.
