During darkening, the moon becomes bloody
On July 27, a unique phenomenon will occur – the lunar eclipse will coincide with the great confrontation of Mars. Both phenomena will take place at the same time and at a given moment in the sky.
The inhabitants of Ukraine on July 27 will see the eclipse of the moon and the confrontation of Mars. These two astronomical phenomena are quite rare: the lunar eclipse will be the longest since the beginning of the 21st century, and the great confrontation of Mars occurs every 15-17 years.
Correspondent.net discusses future rare astronomical phenomena.
Lunar Eclipse Historic
When our planet is between the Sun and the Moon, aligned in rank, the Earth's shadow falls on a satellite called the lunar eclipse.
At that moment, the moon becomes rusty, so it is also called "bloody".
This visual effect occurs when the sun's rays pass through the surface of the Earth and disperse into the Earth's atmosphere, partially reaching the Moon.
The atmosphere of the Earth is the most transparent to the red-orange part of the spectrum of light, so only reaches the surface during darkening. Nitrogen absorbs the white sun and disperses it in the blue spectrum. It is for this reason that the sky becomes blue and the sun looks yellow.
The hue of the "Bloody Moon" will depend on the degree of pollution of the atmosphere.
In Ukraine, the complete lunar eclipse phase will take place on July 27 at 23:21. In general, the lunar eclipse of July 27 – from the first to the last phase – will last three hours and 55 minutes.

Observe better the eclipse of the moon outside the city, far from the light of the city lights. Unlike the solar eclipse, it is absolutely safe to watch the "bloody moon".
On July 27, a partial and complete lunar eclipse will take place. The partial eclipse will be preceded completely and will begin at 22:30. And after a complete failure (which will last 1 hour 43 minutes) will still be observed partial. The total duration of the astronomical phenomenon will be 3 hours and 55 minutes.
A complete eclipse can be observed in almost all regions of Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Australia.
During the darkening of July 27, the moon will appear smaller than usual, since the orbit of our satellite is not quite round.
Great March Confrontation
On the night of July 27-28, another extremely rare event – the connection of the Moon and Mars. In this case, with a rare coincidence Mars on the day of darkness will pass a point of great confrontation with the Sun. This phenomenon can also be observed with the naked eye in the open air.
The moon is so deeply immersed in the Earth's shadow that its luminosity will be several times smaller than that of Mars. The two heavenly bodies will have a reddish hue.
Bloody Moon and Great Confrontation with Mars: How to Find in the Sky
Mars will approach 57.6 million kilometers on July 31 near Earth. It is about 150 times larger than the distance between the Earth and the Moon.
With a magnification of 75 offsets, you can see Mars on the same scale as the Moon.
Scientists say that in the 21st century the coincidence of these rare astronomical events will not be repeated.
Also, by the end of July will be an annual zoroaster. Beyond the city in an hour, you can see about 25 shooting stars.
