Three people were shot dead in a retirement home in South Texas, authorities said, before two other bodies were found in a nearby house.
The two incidents are probably related, said the authorities of the Robstown Police Department. Two other men were found dead in a house related to this shooting, Robstown City secretary, Herman Rodriguez, said on Twitter
Rodriguez added that a phone call from family members prompted the police to visit the residence of one of the nursing victims, where two more men were found dead. He was among those killed.
Rodriguez stated that the authorities believe that the shootings are related but have not identified the victims nor established a possible motive.
"It's a deep incident that does not happen too often in Robstown," Rodriguez told KIII-TV. "We are a small community and many families, we know each other."
Retama Manor Nursing Center is a medium-sized for-profit nursing home with 94 beds, according to the police department.
