The father of a missing student from Iowa says that the search for his daughter can be futile without advice from the general public.
Speaking in an interview with "Good Morning America", Rob Tibbetts said he believes the public could hold the key to find his daughter, Mollie Tibbetts, who disappeared on July 18 after jogging in the evening.
"What we need, is that people say to their friends and neighbors it has seemed, even from afar, unusual to call the authorities and they will exhaust it," said Tibbetts. "The authorities have told us again and again that all similar cases are still resolved by counsel."

"The day after Mollie's disappearance, 400 people spontaneously came forward to form a spontaneous research team," said Rob Tibbetts. "I think it's because this community knows Mollie, they love Mollie and I think the rest of the country is starting to understand who she is too."
Fighting to hold back tears, he says the public should forget to console him.
