The International Union of Biathletists (IBU) suspects the doping of four Russian athletes – Yevhen Ustyugov, Svetlana Slyptsova, Oleksandr Pechonkin and Alexander Chernyshov, including two Olympic champions.

The IBU statement states that doping cases were discovered after checking samples taken from athletes from 2012 to 2015.
Yevgeny Ustyugov is a two-time Olympic champion (Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014 ), Svetlana Sliptsova won "gold" at the Vancouver Olympics.
Ustyugov, Slyptsov and Chernyshov have already completed their careers.
The fact that doping was suspected of four other Russian biathletists, as announced IBU in August.The names of the athletes were not yet known, although some Sources suggest that it is the case of Ustyugov, Sliptov, Chernyshev and Pecheonkina.
Due to the disqualification of athletes having taken prohibited drugs, the Russian team has lost 13 medals at Olympic Games at home cile of Sochi.
