Sony patented a sophisticated smartphone with transparent screens

Sony has obtained a patent for several unusual technologies that can be used in the production of smartphones. The first concerns complex devices, the second describes transparent displays.

By omitting scientific terminology and boring description, the screen is essentially made up of two matrices, one at the front and one at the back. One of them emits light, the other catches and passes. As a result, the matrix can become completely transparent.

Both displays can perform the main (transmit) and "drive" functions – depending on which side of the device is currently being used. Each part has three identical modes: non transparent, translucent and completely transparent

The idea is certainly interesting, but what is the interest of such a device and where such a technology can be used – it is not yet clear

in two versions: the first looks like a book and the other is folded into a tube.

It is still unclear whether Sony intends to combine these two ideas into a single smartphone and whether these ideas should be translated into reality,
