School officials investigate "an extreme racial insensitivity incident" at a New Hampshire high school after students were filmed singing a KKK-themed Christmas carol .
The song was performed by students at Dover High School for "a class assignment on the [the] reconstruction period in American history," said the Superintendent of the School District on Monday. William Harbron.
According to the NBC, grade eleven students, unaware that they were registered, had been instructed to create a jingle based on the time.
The lyrics, according to several sources, included "KKK, KKK, Eliminate All Blacks," sung on the air of "Jingle Bells."
"We are deeply concerned by the possibility that such an event will occur and understand the emotion and concern that this event will create for our students, our families and our staff," Harbron said.
"The administration of Dover High School and District work with students and the school community to respond immediately and effectively to this racial insensitivity."
The Ku Klux Klan was founded after the American Civil War in 1866 as a league of white terrorists are determined to suppress and victimize the freed slaves.
