Since November 25, hundreds of ships have been waiting for clearances to cross the Kerch Strait, both towards the Black Sea and towards the sea of ​​Azov. The ships remained on the ground, forming groups, causing numerous accidents. This was reported by UNN with reference to MTOT.

Thus, according to the international ship monitoring systems, on November 30, LADY_MARIA (Republic of Togo) was damaged due to the confusion of the ship's propeller in the anchor chain. another cargo ship AZOV_CONCORD (Republic # Malta). The two ships were heading to the sea ports of Azov

On 1 December, at the exit of the Azov Sea near the Kerch Strait, the tug PAL 3 (Russian Federation) lost control of the towed barge SHILAYNYAY, loaded with nearly 4,000 tons of wheat, leaving the barge blocked. and sitting on the shallows near Cape Kamian. The captain of the tug attempted for several hours to take off from the barge, but his attempts were unsuccessful.

After authorizing a massive build-up of ships in the Kerch Strait, the Russian Federation seriously threatened the safety of navigation. These actions by the Russian Federation constitute a flagrant violation of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, which states that Russia is responsible for the safe navigation of ships.

In addition to the massive disconnections of AIS vessels encouraged by the Russian Federation, the examples cited show once again that the Russian Federation does not does not respect international law and constitutes a danger for navigation in the Black Sea and the Azov Sea.
