Former President George H.W. Bush's body arrived in Washington, DC yesterday. He will remain in state in the Capitol Rotunda until Wednesday morning. It's an honor reserved for government officials and military officers.

Democrats and Republicans remain stuck on the financing of President Donald Trump's wall that could trigger a partial closure of the government in the coming days.

But for at least a few hours, both parties seemed to put aside their political differences.

Last night, at a ceremony inside the Rotunda, Republican and Democrat legislators from Capitol Hill gathered to pay tribute to the former president.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer stood side by side when a wreath was placed beside the casket. In another image of unity, Speaker of the House of Representatives Paul Ryan and House Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi did the same a few minutes later, standing side by side when a second crown has been filed.
