Parents who were laying their children were fired from a Cobb County elementary school on Tuesday morning after someone reported seeing a man near the school with a gun. Channel 2 Action News reported.
The Teasley Elementary School, which is also a polling station. instead, was under a brief lock while the authorities were investigating, Cobb police confirmed at the news station The reported gun has turned out to be a cell phone case, according to school district officials.
The school sent an alert to parents at 8:15 in the morning. the closing of the premises was lifted and the school day was held normally.
"As a precaution, our school was put under surveillance early this morning," said school officials on alert. "The directors had been informed that a false potential danger in a nearby neighborhood had been revealed false. All students and staff are safe and the school day is running normally.
Parents who arrive at school with their students around 8 am were forced to turn around. Police confirmed in the press that police were talking to a man after witnesses said he was walking near the school with what looked like a gun case.
