Well, when Tomos was still on his nose and there was nowhere to retreat, such a figure seemed a new tactic and very synchronous. You can not stop – try to discredit. These are the main points of "betrayal".
Metropolia, Not the Patriarchate
Opponents of autocephalous try to convince that if they are entrusted to the metropolitan, they are bad. Let's start with the fact that the Ukrainian church will become autocephalous and that's acceptable. In Orthodoxy, autocephalous churches are of three types: patriarchies, metropolises and archbishops. The bottom line is that they are all equal and independent. The status of the metropolis has Polish and Czech churches. The status of the archbishop has an old Cypriot church, whose status was confirmed at the 4th Ecumenical Council. The Greek and Albanian churches also have the status of archbishops, but their predecessors are equal compared to other presidents, even those who have the status of patriarchs.
Second, the ecumenical patriarchy of the last 200 years did not immediately grant autocephaly to patriarchal status. Do not mix the arrangement of autocephaly and get the patriarchal status. For example, in the Tomos of the Romanian and Bulgarian churches, it is clearly indicated that the head of their church is a metropolitan. And now, they are patriarchs. Acquiring autocephaly and elevating oneself to the rank of patriarchy are different processes that rarely coincide in time. The fact that Ukraine has now been granted Metropolitan status is quite normal.
Place in the diptych
We then try to prove that the last place in the diptych is something humiliating and bad. The principle on which the diptych of the Patriarchate of Constantinople rests is exclusively chronological. That is, the churches are going to order them, Tomos. On one condition – first the patriarchate, then the archbishopric and the metropolitan. Thus, the old Georgian church, which received autocephaly even in the fourth century, ranks 9th, Romania, became independent in 1885, in 6th place. That is to say that in this list of churches are not located according to qualities, virtues or correction. No, they take place according to the time they had Tomos. Thus, Ukraine will occupy the 15th place, the recognition of our autocephaly appearing only now.
Synod
The idea of an annual synod, which will operate on a constant rotation, is interesting and even useful. It's actually a Greek model. The thing is, now in our churches there is the Synod. And it solves de facto all the important church problems, which are then officially approved by the bishops and local councils. But the structure of existing synods is more and more reminiscent of the Metropolitan Office, where all the same people sit, monopolizing virtually all the power of the church. Of course, there are always temporary members of the Synod, invited to one or two sessions, but they are less numerous than the ordinary members of the Synod. When there will be a rotation, the influence of the Metropolitan will be deprived of his power and all bishops will actually become equal and may equally influence the adoption of church decisions. This will make the Synod a true congregational organ and will not allow the usurpation of power to specific metropolitans. It is a real reform of the church government and it is very good that Constantinople recommends it to us because it prevents the concentration of all the power of the church in a group restricted metropolitan area.
The Ecumenical Patriarchate will manage everything. Do you know what that confirms? The right of the Patriarch of Constantinople to appeal to the hierarchs and to be the highest authority of the Ukrainian Church. The authors of the Russian temniks simply do not know that under the patriarchate of Constantinople this prerogative is fixed by canons. Specifically, 9 Rule of the Fourth Ecumenical Council. In addition, this rule applies to all churches, so it is normal for it to be valid for the new Ukrainian church.
Name of the church
There are some calls that Phanar imposes on us. But, friends, this is the usual practice in Constantinople: in some of Tomos' autopilot churches, their official name is determined. This does not mean that the church can not then change its name. For example, Bulgaria has received the name of "Holy Bulgarian Autocephalous Orthodox Church", but it now bears the name "Bulgarian Orthodox Church – Bulgarian Patriarchate". This is a kind of oil for the church, it is necessary to baptize the child and dedicate the newly built church. It is claimed that in Tomos it will be written that the Ukraine of the world is given by the ecumenical patriarch. But in practice local Orthodox churches, there is a tradition of obtaining peace from the patriarch of Constantinople. It is written in the Tomos of Greek, Albanian, Polish and Czech churches. In addition, the former patriarchate of Jerusalem will also receive the peace of Constantinople. And that does not mean that one patriarchy dominates the other.

What is dry? There is a drop in information on the theme of the church with the obvious purpose of discrediting an autocephaly that has not yet been received. It is clear who needs it. In principle, this does not surprise me. And what is most interesting – betrayal is based on what is not in principle. I do not know for sure if it 's really a recommendation of Constantinople, a shrug of shoulders. However, even if it is true, there is nothing terrible about it. This is a normal practice in the life of local churches. Moscow understands that it will no longer interfere in the autocephalous process and has therefore decided to lie until the end of Church traditions.
