ST. COUNTY JOSEPH, Ind. (WNDU) – 16-year-old Aaron Trejo was formally charged with murder and felony when Breana Rouhselang, a 17-year-old high school student in Mishawaka, was murdered. Sunday from a dumpster located behind the Pasquale Rulli restaurant in Mishawaka.
Trejo, a football player at Mishawaka High School, is remanded and charged with murder.
On Monday, he is officially charged with murder and feticide, two crimes.
The documents included Detective Gery Mullins' following account:
After a brief pause Detective Mullins began to ask Aaron sharp questions and confronted him with the fact that the material evidence was not correct. Were not going to support his story and that I suspected Aaron to know more than he was saying There were several breaks and quiet moments. I then asked Aaron if the fight was about pregnancy. Aaron Trejo said softly, "Yes." Aaron then explained that Breana had waited too long to talk to Aaron about her pregnancy before she had an abortion. I asked Aaron what he had done about it and he replied, "I acted … I took his life." Aaron explained that he had stabbed Breana to the heart with a knife that he had brought home from him. Aaron chose to use a knife because he thought it would kill Breana quickly. Aaron said that he had put the black plastic bag on Breana, which he had brought home for that purpose. Aaron Trejo said that he was planning to kill Breana and the baby for about a week and that he had not spoken to anyone about it. Aaron Trejo said that after putting Breana's body in the dumpster, he went to the river and threw Breana's phone and knife as far as possible into the river.
An autopsy confirmed that Breana Rouhselang had died from multiple wounds caused by stab wounds, that her headscarf had been tied so tightly that the strangulation had occurred before her death and that she was pregnant. The way Breana Rouhselang died is a homicide.

It has been ordered that Trejo be detained without bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
Rouhselang was a cheerleader and softball player at Mishawaka High School. His family reported his disappearance just hours before his body was discovered.
When police arrived at block 400 Battell Street around 4:30 pm Sunday, they found evidence of a violent crime before discovering Rouhselang's body in the dumpster.
The victim's mother-in-law told NewsCenter 16 that Rouhselang was 6 months pregnant.
