Democrat leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer will not yield to President Trump's long-standing request to create a border wall to meet with them at the White House on Tuesday, according to several people close to the issue.
Pelosi (D-Calif.), Who aspires to become the next Speaker of the House, and Schumer (DN.Y.), Leader of the Senate Minority, plan to make it clear to Trump at the meeting oval office that they are willing to set aside between $ 1.3 and $ 1.6 billion for border security related measures, without however allocating funds for the construction of a wall along the US border with Mexico, said a source involved in the negotiations.
at the table, what their members are already doing: long-established border security funds that have nothing to do with a wall, "the source told The Daily News.
The Democratic opposition is likely to offend Trump, who has asked Congress to allocate $ 5 billion for his wall before the deadline of December 21. Trump has threatened to veto everything else. Bill does not meet his demand, which would lead to a partial closure of the government.

The source in question Trump, not the Democrats, will be to blame if a stop comes.
"The Senate and the House both have an agreement that can be passed," said the source, referring to a bill providing for bipartite support including $ 1.6 billion in border security. "The question is, what will the president sign?"
A White House spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
