FBI Investigates Black DJ Flogging Allegations About White Supremacy

The FBI is participating in an investigation into the attack by several white supremacists of a black disc jockey in a tavern of Washington State, Authorities

Seven men and one woman were arrested for investigating assaults, hate crimes and other charges on Saturday morning in Lynnwood, according to the office of the Sheriff of Snohomish County.

Investigators said the group entered the Rec Room Bar and Grill. , tried to grab the equipment of the DJ, then beat and trampled him shouting racial slurs.

They also injured an Asian man who came to the defense of the DJ, the sheriff's office said. The DJ was treated in a hospital for a swollen eye and other injuries not putting his life in danger.

"The violent behavior directed against members of our community over the weekend simply because of their race is disgusting," said the sheriff of Snohomish County, Ty Trenary said in a press release. "The sheriff's office is working in partnership with the FBI in the hope of getting the harshest sentence possible for these hate crimes."

Court documents identified suspects as affiliated with the Brotherhood Aryan. They were scheduled to appear in court by video from Snohomish County Jail in Everett on Monday afternoon. We did not know right away that they had lawyers. Prosecutors have until Wednesday afternoon to file a complaint.

The authorities claim to believe that the group, which included prominent figures from Washington, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Illinois, and Oregon, was in the state of Washington to mark the anniversary of the death of White supremacist Robert Jay Mathews.

Mathews directed The Order, a white separatist group, until he was killed during a shootout with the FBI on Whidbey Island, north of Seattle, in June. 1984. His supporters describe this anniversary as "Day of Martyrdom". Travis David Condor, a former Pittsburgh soldier who had previously been sentenced to 90 days in jail for beating a homeless man with a baseball bat in Cincinnati, was among those arrested.

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks hate Condor runs the American record label American Defense Records, and was photographed at the "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, last year, which shot to murder James Alex Fields Jr. hit his car in a crowd of counter-protesters.

The attack against the DJ took place just hours after Friday's conviction by Fields of first-degree murder and other charges.

A message left by The Associated Press on Condor's phone, Monday, was not immediately returned.

MPs who responded to a 911 call to the tavern said they saw several people fleeing in a white van. the driver refused the order to stop. They then stopped the vehicle and arrested the six people inside, including Condor.

Two other suspects were arrested after being found in another car that had left the bar, authorities said. The suspects were held on bail of $ 15,000, with the exception of Cory Colwell, 34, who was released on bail, according to the Snohomish County Attorney's Office.
