The Department of Archives of the Ministry of State Security of the former GDR (Stasi) has identified a certificate of service issued to the President of Russia by Vladimir Putin.

According to the publication, the certificate to Commander Putin was issued on December 31, 1985 It has continued each quarter for the next four years. The document was necessary for Putin to be free to visit the offices of the Stasi.
