Rouhselang, who was director of the Mishawaka High School football team, was last seen at his home around 11 pm. Saturday. His family called the police around 4:30 on Sunday after "feeling that something was wrong," said Lt. Alex Arendt of the homicide unit in St. Joseph County.

Speicher testified that Rouhselang and Trejo had attended a school. since elementary school, but he knew no connection between them.

"They had known each other for a long time before meeting – as a manager and he as a football player – at Mishawaka High School," he said.

Speicher said that he was not aware of previous violence between students.
