As expected, the official premiere of the second generation Vivo NEX smartphone took place today. The new device does not have a retractable camera, but there are up to two screens, both Super AMOLED.
The novelty is officially called Vivo NEX Dual Display, the design also reflects the main characteristic of the model . A 6.339-inch screen with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels is placed in front, occupying 91.63% of the front panel area. The traditional 16: 9 format screen is placed behind: its diagonal is 5.49 inches and its resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels.
The smartphone is built on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 single-chip platform and has only one memory configuration: 10 GB RAM and 128 GB of built-in flash memory.
Front Camera in Vivo NEX Dual Display No – The coarse screen made it useless, because it is very convenient to use the back panel screen for self portrait, even if it is slightly smaller than the main one.
The camera is represented by three modules. The principal is represented by a matrix with a resolution of 12 Mp and an objective with an aperture of F / 1.79. It implements autofocus and optical stabilization system. The second module, equipped with a 2-megapixel image sensor and an F / 1.8 aperture, is responsible for analyzing the depth of the scene. Well, the third module – the most interesting. It is essentially a separate 3D TOF camera, which we described in detail in June. With this camera, you can unlock a smartphone with its face (a three-dimensional model is created from data of 300,000 points) or, for example, make payments with Face Pay technology.
It has been reported that 3D TOF works in all lighting conditions and regardless of the weather, facial recognition is only 0.35 seconds. However, it is possible to unlock the smartphone in the traditional way: the fingerprint reader integrated in the front screen. And it should work even faster – for 0.29 seconds.
