The results showed a download speed of 40% higher and 20% higher on Qualcomm modems compared to Intel models.
Apple has a long history of developing its own mobile processors for iPhone and iPad. Switching to a dedicated modem, in which the company can further manage specific equipment for its peripherals, can offer a similar breakthrough in performance.
