The Canadian Diavik mine found the largest diamond in the history of North America

The stone weighs 552 carats (110.4 grams). It is compared to the size of a chicken egg, reports Bloomberg.

A diamond was found in October in northwestern Canada, 150 miles from the north circle. It has a unique yellow color and texture. Normally, non-crystalline and non-white diamonds are cheaper, but they are considered special.

The most important previous diamond was found on this mine. It weighed 187.7 carats.

The found diamond ranks 7th among all diamonds found in the 21st century. It was introduced in the largest gemstone in the history of TOP-30. The largest diamond in the world was found in South Africa in 1905. It weighed 3,000 carats.
