As reported by Ukrinform, the format of the football championship of Ukraine for the 2019/20 season was discussed by UPL clubs on December 20 at the FFU's repeated general meeting. Most ULR clubs supported the format with 12 teams, only "Dynamo", "Carpathians" and "Chernomorets" played for the 16-team format.
