Astronomers discovered the celestial body furthest from anything previously found in the solar system. The object 20118 VG18 is located at a distance more than 120 times higher from the Sun to the Earth.
The announcement of the opening was published on the website of the Center for Small Planets of the International Astronomical Union.

The new transneptone center was discovered by Scott Sheppard of the Carnegie Institution, David Thollen of the University of Hawaii and Chad Truhillo from the University of Arizona was looking for objects far from the center of the solar system, including the mysterious Planet X, whose existence had been predicted by astronomers Michael Brown and Konstantin Batigin, from orbit data of seven known transneptonal objects, among which Sedna by the same Brown), objects 2004 VN112, 2013 RF98F and others.
The first photos of the VG18 2018 were taken on November 10 at the 8-meter Subaru Japanese telescope, located on Mount Mauna Kea in Hawaii. 19659006] Distance between the sun and various objects of the solar system "src =" https://24tv.ua/resources/photos/news/620_DIR/201812/1084379_5430421.jpg?201812173715 "/>

According to the magnitude of magnitude, scientists determined that the diameter of the object was about 500 kilometers, which allows us to classify it as a planet dwarf. 2018 VG18 has a pink hue – this color usually indicates the presence of ice on the surface.
Scientists have dubbed the Farout object (from the English – "far"). Until now, scientists have been able to detect no object from the Sun of more than 100 astronomical units. For comparison, the distance from Pluto is about 34 astronomical units.
