Astronomers discovered the celestial body furthest from anything previously found in the solar system. The object 20118 VG18 is located at a distance more than 120 times higher from the Sun to the Earth.

Observations in the Magellan telescope confirmed that the distance up to 2018 VG18 is about 120 astronomical units, making it the first object of the solar system observed outside the mark in 100 astronomical units.
