P Resident Trump will spend Christmas in Washington due to the partial closure of the government.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Sunday that the first lady, Melania Trump, would return from Florida "so that she could spend Christmas together". Trump then tweeted the news.

On Friday, Melania and their 12-year-old son, Barron, left the nation's capital for Mar-a-Lago to continue the tradition of the family celebrating Christmas in Palm Beach .
It is not clear right away if Barron will also return to Washington with his mother.
Trump was to leave on Friday for the 16-day vacation, but he announced that he would stay at the White House while the Senate was trying to find a compromise on a bill to keep the government endowed with funds for new Year.
Earlier Friday, the Federal Aviation Administration had canceled the temporary flight restrictions imposed on the airspace around Mar-a-Lago, which had been put in place on 21 December to January 1st. 6 in anticipation of the president's visit.
