LG Electronics has joined the lawsuit filed by the Korean Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) against the US chip maker Qualcomm
In 2016, the commission fined Qualcomm $ 915 million for a patent license, in violation of the laws of the country. The company did not accept the Commission's arguments and filed a lawsuit. Samsung Electronics, Apple, Intel, MediaTek and Huawei have taken the side of the FTC as auxiliary participants
According to experts, LG Electronics has decided to take part in the dispute because it can not negotiate with Qualcomm. At the same time, Samsung Electronics refused to take part in a lawsuit by entering into a mutual licensing agreement with Qualcomm earlier this year. The final verdict of the court is expected only in a few years.
