Several people were injured Saturday during a "partial equipment failure" involving a "jet bridge" at a Maryland airport, confirmed officials.
The airport was connected to Twitter confirming that initial reports suggested that six people had sustained life-threatening injuries. The situation was at Gate E-10.
These people were taken to hospitals in the area, the airport said.
"The reaction deck will remain closed until the investigation is complete, the aircraft are out of the door, no other impact on operations," they tweeted.
The fire department of Anne Arundel County also tweeted that they were assisting the fire and rescue team of the airport with the incident.
Personnel and ambulances responding to the intervention are photographed
